Marc Marquez delivered yet another masterclass on a Saturday, securing his second consecutive Tissot Sprint victory of the season at the Gran Premio YPF Energía de Argentina 2025.

The Ducati Lenovo Team star fended off a fierce challenge from his younger brother, Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), to take the win, while Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) settled for third—his third P3 finish of 2025—despite finishing 3.8 seconds off the pace.

Launching perfectly from pole, Marc Marquez grabbed the holeshot, with Alex Marquez slotting into second. Bagnaia quickly moved into P3 as Johann Zarco (LCR Honda CASTROL) suffered a slow getaway, dropping to sixth.

The race took an early twist on Lap 1 when Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) crashed after contact with Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team). Meanwhile, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) surged into fourth, just ahead of the fast-starting Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP).

While the Marquez brothers pushed hard at the front, Bagnaia struggled to keep up. By Lap 4, Alex was just 0.2s behind Marc, but Bagnaia had already fallen 1.3s off the leading duo.

At the halfway mark, the Marquez brothers continued their relentless pace, clocking 1:37.7s per lap. Bagnaia tried to respond but soon slipped back into the 1:38s, unable to challenge the leading duo. With four laps to go, Marc held a narrow 0.371s advantage over Alex, but his younger sibling soon found himself struggling to maintain the pace.

As the final laps unfolded, Marc slowly pulled clear. With two laps remaining, his lead extended to 0.721s, and by the final lap, he had done enough to secure the win. Alex Marquez crossed the line just 0.903s behind, claiming another podium finish, while Bagnaia had to settle for third and crucial points for his title defense.

Despite a poor start, Zarco fought his way back to a strong P4, finishing just 1.1s behind Bagnaia. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) completed the top five, while Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) secured sixth ahead of Morbidelli in seventh.

Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) claimed two valuable Sprint points in eighth after a late move on Acosta, who faded to ninth after a bright start.

Marc Marquez’s dominant Sprint form continues, but his younger brother Alex showed he won’t go down without a fight. Meanwhile, Bagnaia will be searching for answers to close the gap to his Ducati rivals. Can he bounce back in the Grand Prix? And will Zarco mount a stronger challenge with a better start?

Find out when the much-anticipated Grand Prix of Argentina fires off at 15:00 local time (UTC -3).
