Korea Republic national team made a comeback again after beating the Australia national team, scoring 2-1 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Quarter-Final at Al Janoub Stadium.
Both sides were open to attacking in this game and got more opportunities but couldn’t convert them into goals.
But in the late of the first half, in the 42nd minute, following an attack from Australia, Nathaniel Atkinson passed the ball to Craig Goodwin, who shot into the goal; Australia led 1-0.

In the second half, Australia almost got 2nd goal in the 53rd minute following Mitchell Duke’s shot, but it was a bit too high.
Korea Republic opened an attack to find an equalizer goal, but still not found.
But in the stoppage time, in the 90+6 minute, Korea Republic awarded a penalty after Lewis Miller conceded a foul to Son Heung-Min in the penalty box. The referee decided to a penalty, and Hwang Lee-Chan converted the goal, and Korea Republic equalizer 1-1.
The remaining time had no additional score, ending both tied 1-1, and they continued playing in the extra time.
In the extra time, in the 104th minute, following a free-kick and Son Heung-Min’s shot to the top left corner, Korea Republic led 2-1.
In the remaining time, Australia almost got an equalizer goal but did not score, ending Korea Republic winning 2-1 and advancing to the Semi-Final.
In the Semi-Final, Korea Republic will face Jordan.
