Thai League has confirmed that the start of the 2026/27 season will be pushed back by two weeks, as part of a strategic move to avoid a scheduling clash with the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026, which will take place from 4 July to 26 August.
According to the preliminary calendar agreed upon following discussions between league organisers and club representatives, the Thai League 2026/27 season is now set to begin between 4–6 September, with the first half of the first leg running until 26–27 December.
The league will then take a one-month break to accommodate the AFC Asian Cup 2027, before resuming for the second half of the season from 6–7 February 2027. The campaign is scheduled to conclude on 29–30 May 2027.
However, the Thailand National Team has not confirmed to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2027, and it will be decided with Turkmenistan in the last match on 31 March 2026.
In addition to the league schedule, adjustments will also be made to domestic cup competitions. The League Cup will be arranged to finish earlier in the season, while the FA Cup final will be staged one week after the league concludes, ensuring a smoother calendar flow.
This revised framework represents an initial agreement reached through consultations between the Thai League and participating clubs, allowing teams to better plan squad management, competition priorities and logistics well in advance of the new season.
Further details and official confirmation of match schedules are expected to be announced in due course as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue.
