Tan Cheng Hoe, head coach of Selangor FC, said the character displayed by his men and hard work throughout the game to make up for the loss of failing to reach the semi-finals of the Piala Malaysia 2023 was also the tonic for his team’s big victory.
Cheng Hoe explained he seemed amazed to see the powerful performance his players demonstrated even though they were acting in front of a ‘sea’ of loyal supporters from the opposing team.
“The initial network that we obtained gives high confidence and motivation to the players to continue to achieve valuable victory tonight (last night) with such a large network,” TCH said in a post-match press conference after the match against Terengganu FC 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 last night.
“However, victory is not easy to achieve, especially in the two weeks our team has to face Terengganu FC, including two matches in the Piala Malaysia competition, even though we know TFC is on a good basis with momentum without losing since the last three months compared to our team.”
“But today we saw that the player’s style of play was a little different and confident, plus the character shown by each player and the hard work to ensure that we were not conceded after we managed to get the first goal even though at first it seemed pressured.
“However, there is concern about the team’s momentum because after this we need to take a long break for a month, but that is no reason for the players not to remain fit, I will make the best plans for the team during that period,”
