Silawan Intamee is confident Thailand can perform at their best ahead of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 Group B opener against Southeast Asian rivals the Philippines on Friday.
“Miw” Having featured in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019 and the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, Intamee is no stranger to opening matchday pressure but is confident Thailand are ready.

“We have the drive and ambition to achieve the best of our capabilities and I believe our goal is realistic.”
“We have played the Philippines in the past across different tournaments, so we are familiar with their style of play. We have studied their game extensively and have learned from our own mistakes. We are confident of victory,”
“If we can keep our heads in front and close out the game with a win, then confidence should get us through to the next round.”
“If everything goes according to plan and we do beat the Philippines, having a win one day before my birthday would be the perfect gift,”
“In the first round (group stage), we have three matches in total. Every match is important and we take it game by game.”
“However, the main goal is the first two matches and we have to win both in order to stand a fighting chance of qualifying for the knockout round.”
“The last match will be against Australia and if we’re lucky and win, we are successful. It will be a bonus for us.”
Thailand stay in group B with Australia, Philippines, Indonesia and will face Philippines in first match on 21 January 8.00 pm at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
