Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) revealed stands suggest organizer for delay match 30 minutes in match Malaysia VS Bahrain in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers 3rd round Group E last night and explain that the action of the ‘garbage shovel’ is unnatural and inappropriate.
“Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) is of the view that Malaysia’s match against Bahrain last night for the 2023 Asian Cup qualifier at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium should be postponed by at least 30 minutes to allow time for the field drainage system to function better.” PSM said on official statement.
“The suggestion that the match be postponed to 9.30pm was made last night, but the match will continue as per the set “kick-off” time.”
“PSM would like to emphasize that the postponement is very necessary after witnessing heavy rain non -stop for more than two hours in the area around Bukit Jalil.”
“PSM would also like to clarify that the action of the ‘garbage shovel’ is not appropriate and indirectly causes the field to be damaged.”
“PSM would like to once again express its commitment to work with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to ensure that the remaining matches of the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers take place in a better and orderly manner.
PSM together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports will begin the process of changing the stadium pitch which is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year as well as other improvements to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium soon after the commitment of other events that have been booked by the organizers this year.”
