Perak FC win Geylang International FC, a club from Singapore Premier League scoring 3-0 in the friendly match at Perak Stadium, Ipoh.
In last night’s friendly action, the hosts managed to break the visitors’ fort as early as the seventh minute through a single player from the 2018 Malaysia Cup squad, Firdaus Saiyadi, followed by Perak FC’s second goal by Muhammad Harith Akif in the 33rd minute via a penalty kick.
The 2-0 result remained until the end of the first half and continuing the second half, Perak continued to put pressure on Geylang and as a result their import player Adilet Kanyabekov hit hard for the third goal in the 66th minute before match referee Mohammad Faizal Talib blew the final whistle.
Yusri at the media conference after the end of last night’s match said that although his team recorded a victory, it was not a benchmark for the team that was formed to be at the best stage and there were still weaknesses and room for improvement.
“The main objective is to test the players in action at a higher and more challenging level, especially local players and new imports. Maybe we will change again because we still have three pre-season-friendly matches remaining. I want to see the combination and harmony between the new players,” he said.
