Jesper Nyholm, Philippines national team defender has officially moved with PT Prachuap FC, a Thai League 1 club, for the second leg of the 2024/25 season.
The 31-year-old bids farewell to Perak FC following their elimination from the Unifi Piala Malaysia 2024/25, marking the end of his tenure in Malaysia.
Nyholm played his final match for Perak FC on December 25, a thrilling 3-3 draw against Sri Pahang FC in the Malaysia Cup. Taking to Instagram to express his gratitude, Nyholm shared an emotional message:
“Closing one chapter, opening another 🙏
Thank you @perakfcofficial_, for the memories, the lessons, and the friendships. To the fans, my teammates, and everyone who stood by me – your support means the world. 💛🖤
Thank you, Malaysia, for welcoming us to your country; it’s been fun getting to explore you 🇲🇾. Now, it’s time to embrace the next adventure ⚽.”
His heartfelt words reflected his appreciation for the club, teammates, and supporters during his time in Malaysia, where he became a fan favorite for his strong defensive performances.
Nyholm’s move to PT Prachuap FC represents a fresh chapter in his career as he joins one of Thai League 1’s competitive squads. The club has also strengthened its lineup with the addition of Brazilian winger Chrigor Moraes, who arrives from Buriram United.
PT Prachuap FC is hopeful that Nyholm’s international experience and defensive prowess will bolster their backline as they aim for a strong second half of the season.
This is second time in the career of Nyholm in Thailand, after first time with Muangthong United in the season 2022/23.
