Malaysia hockey national team can’t resist a more brutal team after losing to Argentina hockey national team, defending champions scoring 0-4 in the FIH Junior World Cup 2023 Group Stage, Pool A at Hockey National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
More unfortunate, Malaysia wasted the four penalty corners earned throughout the match compared to Argentina who only got one penalty corner.
Argentina opened the scoring through a Bautista Capurro field goal in the 20th minute before Marco Aguirregomecorta scored the second goal eight minutes later.
The team from South America continued to show their dominance as the second half continued when they added a third goal through a penalty corner scored by Inaki Minadeo in the 44th minute before Juan Fernandez scored a fourth field goal later and the result remained 4-0 until the end of the game.
The result saw Argentina, coached by Juan Ignacio Gilardi, confirm their ticket to the quarter-finals after recording two victories, including when they beat Australia 1-0, yesterday.
Malaysia and Australia, who also beat Chile 7-1, shared three points today and this Friday’s action will determine the team that will accompany Argentina to the top eight.
