Asian Games 2026: Malaysia Blast Oman 7-0
Malaysia's men's hockey team continued to showcase their attacking sharpness, thrashing Oman 7-0 in their second Group B match at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games — repeating the exact same scoreline they produced against Uzbekistan in their opening fixture.
Faizal Saari opened the scoring as early as the third minute with a field goal, before Nik Aiman Nik Rozemi doubled the lead in the 17th minute, converting from a penalty corner.
Azrai Aizad Abu Kamal then extended Malaysia's advantage to 3-0 in the 24th minute with another field goal, before Shello Silverius made it 4-0 in the 30th minute, converting a penalty stroke to round off a dominant first half.
Faizal Saari got his name on the scoresheet once more in the 43rd minute at the start of the second half, before Akhimullah Anuar Esook and Azrai both found the net in the 57th minute to complete a comprehensive 7-0 victory.
Despite the emphatic win, head coach Brendon Carolan was keen not to let his players look too far ahead beyond their upcoming clash with Thailand, with the squad's focus now firmly fixed on ensuring the best possible preparation heading into that fixture.
