Malaysia’s motorsport ace Hafizh Syahrin delivered a masterclass on home soil, powering to a brilliant second-place finish (P2) in Race 1 of the ASB1000 category at Round 2 of the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) held at the Sepang International Circuit.
Riding for the JDT Racing Team, Hafizh battled through tricky track conditions with composure and aggression, staking his claim among Asia’s elite. After surging into the front pack early on, the former MotoGP rider led for much of the final stages before eventually crossing the line just 2.754 seconds behind the winner.
Hafizh also set the fastest lap of the race with an impressive 2:06.048, a testament to his pace and determination to bring JDT Racing Team into the championship spotlight.
The race victory went to fellow Malaysian Azroy Anuar of IDEMITSU Honda Racing Malaysia, who expertly mastered the damp conditions to secure a stunning win in front of an electrified home crowd.
For Hafizh and the JDT Racing Team, the podium result is not only a strong start to their 2025 campaign but also a statement of intent as serious title contenders in the premier ASB1000 class.
With confidence high and momentum on their side, attention now shifts to Race 2 tomorrow.
