Johor Darul Ta’Zim earned 3 points in their home again after beating Ulsan HD FC scoring 3-0 in the AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25 League Stage(East Zone) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Under the guidance of Hector Bidoglio, JDT pursued their second ACL Elite win, while Kim Pan-gon’s Ulsan squad continued their search for their first win of the season, coming off three straight losses.
JDT struck early, with star winger Arif Aiman capitalizing on a defensive error by Ulsan’s Yong-gwon Kim just eight minutes in.
Ulsan faced another setback in the 23rd minute when import player Matheus Sales was substituted due to injury, bringing in Chung-yong Lee.
Further disruption followed for Ulsan as Yong-gwon Kim also left the field in the 35th minute.
The first half ended 1-0 in favor of JDT, but the second half saw JDT further widen their lead. In the 67th minute,
Oscar Arribas scored the second goal, with his shot deflecting off the Ulsan defense, leaving the goalkeeper wrong-footed. Bergson Da Silva sealed the victory in style, powering in a third goal after a precise setup from Afiq Fazail.
Despite six minutes of added time, the score held firm at 3-0. JDT’s victory propelled them to 3rd place in the eastern group with seven points, while Ulsan remains at the bottom, winless after four matches. Up next, JDT will face Shandong Taishan, and Ulsan Hyundai will challenge Shanghai Port on November 26.
