Johor Darul Ta’zim Futsal delivered a statement victory by edging Pahang Rangers 7–6 in a pulsating match in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League Division 1 2025 at SUKPA Indoor Stadium, Kuantan.
The clash had major title implications, with JDT aiming to widen the gap at the top of the table and Pahang Rangers, just three points behind, seeking to close in. Both teams came out firing, packed with international flair and local firepower.
JDT’s Brazilian trio of Bruno Taffy, Caio Cesar, and Saad Sani spearheaded the visitors’ attack, while Felipe de Souza led Pahang Rangers’ offensive line.
JDT struck first blood in the 4th minute through a thunderous effort by Ridzwam Bakri, only for Matheus Moura to equalize for Pahang Rangers in the 7th. Just a minute later, Razin Rahim capitalized on defensive lapses to give the hosts a 2–1 lead, igniting the home crowd.
The back-and-forth battle continued as Awalluddin Mat Nawi restored parity at 2–2 for JDT, but Felipe de Souza responded with a fierce strike to give the home side a 3–2 advantage going into halftime.
The intensity doubled after the break. Bruno Taffy made it 3–3 early in the second half, but Harith Na’im answered instantly to put Pahang Rangers back ahead at 4–3.
Then came a goal blitz over 8 minutes: Ridzwan Bakri scored twice (25’ and 30’) to complete his hat-trick for JDT. and Tuah Eizlan (29’) and Felipe de Souza (33’) hit back for Pahang Rangers.
With the score locked at 6–6, the game seemed headed for a draw until Ridzwam Bakri, already on a hat-trick, struck again late before Firdaus Ambiah sealed the deal with a decisive finish.
The win not only handed JDT a critical 3 points on enemy territory but also extended their lead at the top of the MPFL table, underlining their credentials as serious title contenders.
