Malaysia’s opening match against Pakistan on September 8 will be a crucial test as they look to build on their runner-up finish in the 2023 edition of the tournament. Under the leadership of newly appointed coach Sarjit Singh, the Speedy Tigers have had valuable international experience this year, participating in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and the Nations Cup in Poland. Their recent European tour, which included matches against Olympic-bound teams, further enhanced their preparation.
Coach Sarjit Singh has emphasized the importance of consistency and physical conditioning as key elements for success in the tournament. While a few players have been rested due to minor injuries, the squad is bolstered by young talents who have earned their spots through strong performances in training. The team’s focus on improving with each game and maintaining consistency reflects their commitment to long-term success.
