A statement from the Football Association of Malaysia Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff Haji Mahadi, Co-President of the Football Association of Football, released a statement regarding the latest incident of the KL City FC support which has been beaten at the Final Piala FA 2023 last Saturday.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) would like to contradict the statement made by one of the Sports Watchers – Sadek Mustaffa, and a few other parties stating that the associate was late to give respond or to act regarding the latest incident of the KL City FC supporters which has been beaten at the Final Piala FA 2023, in Stadium Sultan Ibrahim, last Saturday.
FAM states in its official statement that they are not keeping silent about this or is slow to act and take a decision.
For information, a police report was reported by the victim of the incident the next day. Therefore, the association could not react or take any action that could disrupt the police investigation because this case has already become a police case.
However, the associate said they were ready and open to cooperate with the police if asked to do so to help investigate the case.
As a governing body of the national football, FAM strongly rejects any form of misconduct related to matters of security, violence or acts of violence in football, regardless of whether it occurs on or off the field, involving supporters or spectators.
FAM takes this incident very seriously and will immediately take proactive action with MFL to ensure that the same incident does not happen in future.
