Vietnam national team was confirmed out of the tournament after losing to Indonesia national team scoring 0-1 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group D at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
In this match, in the beginning game, both sides were open to attacking and got more opportunities.
In the 42nd minute, Indonesia awarded a penalty following Nguyen Thanh Bình pulling the shirt of Rafael Struick in the penalty box, and Asnawi Mangkualam converted the penalty to the goal; Indonesia led 1-0.
In the remaining time of the first half, there was no additional score, ending the first half with Indonesia leading 1-0.
In the second half, Indonesia was the advantage side and started attacking the Vietnam side but couldn’t convert to a goal.
In the remaining time of the second half, Vietnam tried more opportunities but couldn’t get an equalized score, ending Indonesia winning 1-0.
