Bangkok United head coach Totchtawan Sripan admitted his side lost control of the match after conceding the opening goal in their 4-0 defeat to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the Shopee Cup 2025/26 Group B clash at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
“As soon as we started the second half, we conceded and the whole picture changed. The players’ mentality, fitness, and confidence were factors, but we must admit JDT were superior,” Totchtawan said in his post-match remarks.
The Thai side had held JDT goalless in the first half, but the Southern Tigers’ relentless second-half pressure exposed Bangkok United’s defensive errors. Brazilian striker Bergson da Silva went on to score a hat-trick, with João Figueiredo also on target.
Despite the setback, Totchtawan urged his team to remain positive and focus on recovery.
“We still have three more matches before the break. With five competitions in a single season, it’s a heavy schedule, but we will do our best to manage it,” he added.
