It was redemption in full force at ONE Friday Fights 116, as 16-year-old Franco-Algerian sensation ‘Petchsam’ Nayhan Mohamed avenged his previous defeat by stopping Thai-Malay prodigy Adam S. Dechaphan, 17, in devastating fashion at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
Headlining the event under Muay Thai rules at 112 lbs, the rematch between these two teenage titans delivered high drama from the opening bell.
In the first round, Petchsam came out blazing, unleashing a relentless barrage of punches that forced the referee to administer an early standing eight-count to Adam. Despite the early trouble, Adam showed grit and resilience to survive the round.
But the second round was all Petchsam. With fierce aggression and surgical precision, he reopened an old wound on Adam’s face and launched a merciless assault that pinned his opponent into the corner. Unable to defend himself against the onslaught, Adam was overwhelmed, prompting the referee to step in and wave off the contest, declaring Petchsam the winner by TKO in round two.
The emphatic victory not only settled the score between the two young warriors but also earned Petchsam a performance bonus of 350,000 THB(RM45,939), as he walked away with his hands raised and his redemption complete.
