Masatada Ishii expressed gratitude for the media’s interest and emphasized Thailand’s thorough preparation for their first home match of the tournament.
Following a challenging away game against Timor Leste, Ishii highlighted the advantage of having all 26 players available, ensuring greater depth and flexibility.
“Having all 26 players allows us to be better prepared. Both Ekanit Panya and Supachai Sarachat joined us later, but we’ve already planned for various scenarios. Everyone is capable of stepping up when needed,” Ishii said.
Acknowledging the unpredictability of football, Ishii stressed that while game analysis is essential, real-time situations on the field often differ.
“We analyzed Malaysia’s style of play, but the actual game can vary. What matters most is how well the players adapt and implement our tactics on the pitch.”
Ishii also addressed challenges posed by domestic competitions overlapping with the tournament, preventing teams from fielding their best lineups. Despite these hurdles, he remains confident in Thailand’s preparation and determination to maximize their opportunities.
Team captain Peeradon Chamratsamee, returning to action after serving a suspension in the opening match, conveyed his excitement to lead Thailand in front of home fans.
“I’m ready to give more than 100%, especially when representing the Thai national team. We’ve prepared well, and I believe we’ll secure the three points tomorrow,” Peeradon stated.
Having tasted championship glory in previous editions of the tournament, Peeradon shared the collective goal of the squad to defend their title and inspire younger teammates to achieve victory.
“For those of us who have won before, we’re motivated to defend the championship. For those yet to win, this is their chance to create history. Everyone in the team, including the coaching staff, shares the same dream of lifting the trophy again.”
Peeradon concluded by rallying support from Thai football fans, urging them to pack Rajamangala Stadium and create an electrifying atmosphere to inspire the team.
“I invite all Thai fans to cheer for us tomorrow. As players, we are committed to bringing the championship back to Thailand.”
The match will take place on December 14, 2024, at 9:00 pm.(Malaysian Time) at Rajamangala Stadium. Both teams are vying for crucial points in Group A, with Thailand looking to capitalize on home advantage while Malaysia aims to solidify their strong start in the tournament.
