In light of the recent issue concerning Paulo Josue and the Kuala Lumpur City Football Club’s failure to pay players for three months and more, former Malaysian professional football forward Zaquan Adha voiced his concerns on Instagram.
“This is what happens when players don’t speak out and fight for their salaries. But if you do fight, you face consequences like not being offered a new contract for the next season. Management doesn’t want players who have strong opinions and take on leadership roles among their teammates,” Zaquan remarked.
He continued, stating that such incidents lead to situations where players are compelled to sign terms and conditions that force them to remain silent about internal issues, like the salary problems currently plaguing KL City.
“It would be better if players fought for their salaries and eventually received them, rather than staying quiet and never seeing a cent. How can a team become champions if these issues keep repeating?” Zaquan questioned.
He concluded by suggesting that team management should seek out a proper Board of Directors who truly understand football, rather than those who are merely seeking recognition in the football world.
