Jordan national team kept first victory after beating Palestine national team scoring 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 3 Group B at KLFA Stadium, Cheras.
Before kickoff, both teams observed a five-minute moment of silence to honor the victims of the worsening Palestinian-Israeli conflict, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Jordan took an early lead in the 5th minute, with Yazan Al-Naimat breaking through Palestine’s defense and scoring past goalkeeper Baraa Kharoub. Despite the early setback, Palestine intensified their efforts and almost equalized through Wessam Abou Ali, but Jordanian goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila saved the attempt.
Palestine finally leveled the score in the 41st minute when Wessam headed in a cross, tying the game 1-1 by halftime. However, Jordan quickly regained control in the second half, with Yazan scoring his second goal in the 50th minute, bringing his international goal tally to 19.
Jordan further solidified their lead in the 72nd minute when Noor Al-Rawabdeh netted the third goal. Despite Palestine’s attempts to reduce the deficit, the match ended 3-1 in favor of Jordan, marking an important victory in their qualification campaign.
