Uthai Boonmoh, assistant coach of Muangthong United, is confident that his team can claim a crucial victory against Selangor FC in their upcoming AFC Champions League Two Group H clash. The match, set for November 28 at the MBPJ Stadium, carries significant stakes for both sides.
Currently, Selangor sit in second place with seven points from two wins, a draw, and a loss. Meanwhile, Muangthong United are in third with five points after four matches. A victory for The Kirins would propel them above Selangor, keeping their hopes alive for progression to the next stage.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Uthai emphasized the importance of the fixture:
“Tomorrow’s match is crucial for us. The players are fully prepared and confident. They understand the significance of this match, and we need to win.”
The Kirins are buoyed by a clean bill of health, with no injury concerns ahead of the game. Uthai added:
“All players are fit and ready. We’ll step onto the field tomorrow aiming for three points.”
Muangthong come into the match on the back of a four-game winning streak across all competitions. This strong form has boosted team morale as they prepare to face Selangor.
The teams last met on September 9 in Bangkok, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw, reflecting how evenly matched they are.
