His Majesty The King, Sultan Ibrahim, has expressed words of encouragement to the national contingent for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“I would like to wish all the national athletes who will be competing in the 2024 Olympic Games the best of luck. Together, let us pray for the success of the athletes representing the country in the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” His Majesty said to the Royal Press Office (RPO).
Earlier today (July 2), the King graciously attended the ceremony of handing over the Jalur Gemilang to the Malaysian contingent for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Istana Negara.
Also present were YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports; Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia; and Datuk Seri Megat D Shariman, President of the Paralympic Council of Malaysia. Present as well were Dr. Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, Chef de Mission (CDM) of the national contingent to the Olympic Games; and Datuk Subramanian Raman Nair, CDM of the national contingent to the Paralympic Games.
For the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, 25 national athletes will be participating so far, while the Paralympic Games will involve 20 athletes.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the Paralympic Games will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
