Malaysian women’s doubles stars Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah continued their blistering form at the Thailand Open 2024/25, surging into the final after a commanding straight-games victory over Japan’s Rui Hirokami and Sayaka Hobara in Bangkok today.
The world No. 4 pair displayed both composure and aggression on court, dispatching the Japanese duo 21-18, 21-12 in just 44 minutes at the Nimibutr Stadium, keeping alive their dream of becoming the first-ever Malaysian women’s doubles pair to lift the Thailand Open crown.
Pearly-Thinaah, who have been in imperious form this season, will now face South Korea’s Jeong Na Eun and Lee Yeon Woo in the championship match. The Malaysians will head into the encounter with a psychological advantage, having defeated the Koreans in straight games during their only previous meeting at the French Orleans Masters in March.
