Terengganu FC, has denied claims that they owe Thai national striker Adisak Kraisorn a six-figure salary, clarifying that the actual arrears amount to only five figures.
The club made the statement in response to rumors circulating in the Malaysian media about a possible legal dispute involving unpaid wages.
Adisak, who joined Terengganu FC in the 2023 season, was unable to meet performance expectations, managing only three goals. He left the club after the season and returned to Thailand, first playing for True Bangkok United before moving to Kasetsart FC in Thai League 2.
The rumors suggested that Terengganu FC had a substantial debt to the player and were facing legal action through FIFA. However, Terengganu FC has refuted the claim of a six-figure debt, acknowledging instead that only Adisak’s December 2023 salary, which amounts to a five-figure sum, remains unpaid.
The club explained that the unpaid amount has been partially allocated for various third-party expenses related to Adisak’s time at the club, including housing rent, car fees, and other contractual obligations. The remaining sum pertains to personal advances, airline tickets, and signing fees, all of which are manageable within a five-figure total.
Terengganu FC further confirmed that FIFA had issued a directive on August 31, 2024, ordering the club to settle the outstanding payments within 45 days. The club assured that it is fully aware of the situation and is on track to resolve the issue by October 15, 2024, as required by FIFA.
This development brings clarity to the situation and underscores Terengganu FC’s commitment to addressing the matter responsibly within the set timeframe.
