Shah Alam – SELANGOR FC (SFC) received a RM3.5 million sponsorship injection from health and wellbeing company, TDC Holdings (TDC) for the upcoming Malaysian league season.
Selangor FC Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon said, TDC will be one of the main sponsors of the Red Giants squad this season after receiving sponsorship from TDC since the 2021 season.
“We are pleased to receive TDC as a sponsor with a total sponsorship of RM3 million for this season in addition to another RM500,000 in kind,”
Chief Executive Officer of TDC Holdings, Mohd. Hafizuddin Hiew Abdullah also said that the sponsorship of Selangor FC last season had given TDC the opportunity to expand the TDC company’s brand and also its company’s products to the domestic football fan market.
Dr. Johan said, the sponsorship is an appreciation to the local football club where after sponsoring Selangor FC, TDC has also subsequently co-sponsored another club that also competes in the Malaysian League. This shows the growing confidence of corporate companies in Malaysia to sponsor football teams as a marketing platform for their products.
Meanwhile, Mohd. Hafizuddin said, the status of SFC as one of the teams with history and success in the local football scene with a strong fanbase, has made him continue to maintain the co-sponsorship with Selangor FC.
This sponsorship will include the branding of TDC on the Selangor team’s training jersey and the branding of Alithera products, one of the TDC products that will be launched. Apart from that, the TDC branding at the stadium, social media and the Selangor FC platform will also be featured.
This cooperation not only covers sponsorship to the team but also further collaboration through programs that will be held between TDC and Selangor FC. The first program that will be organized together is the ‘Let’s Cope With A Neon Hope’ event which will be held in conjunction with ‘World Cancer Day’ on 4th February 2022 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Center. Various interesting activities have been planned including the launch of the Selangor FC away kit jersey, free cancer screening and many more. On the same day, every sale of Selangor FC ‘Away’ jerseys will get an additional discount of RM8 only for purchases on that day subject to terms and conditions. RM5 from every sale of the away jersey will also be donated to the National Cancer Council (MAKNA) and the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
