Syamer Kutty Abba, midfielder Malaysia national team age 26 move to joined Penang FC in the season 2024/25 on loan contract from Johor Darul Ta’Zim.
Syamer had previously played for the Penang team in 2016 to 2017 before going to Johor Darul Ta’zim in 2018. In the same year, he was loaned for one year to Vilaverdense in Portugal.
Syamer represented Malaysia at the youth level, playing for the under-17, 19, 20 and 23-year-old levels. In October 2017, Syamer received his first call-up to the Malaysian national team for centralized training in preparation for the 2019 Asian Cup qualifier Group B match against Hong Kong on 10 October 2017.
Syamer made his debut for Malaysia against Hong Kong in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers. On 4 November 2018, he was named in the Malaysian national team for the 2018 AFF Championship. On 27 May 2022, Syamer scored his first international goal against Brunei in a friendly match held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Syamer was also part of the Malaysian team that qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 and played all 3 matches against Turkmenistan, Bahrain and Bangladesh in the Third Round of Qualifying Group E. Syamer was also part of the squad that qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2023.
