Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik delivered a heroic comeback to secure their third title of the 2025 season, overcoming South Korea’s world No. 10 duo Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae in a gripping three-game final.
In what was the day’s only match to go the distance, the world No. 3 Malaysians recovered from a slow start to prevail 15-21, 21-18, 21-18 in a pulsating 65-minute showdown that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
After dropping the opening game, Aaron and Soh responded with their trademark grit and tactical brilliance, clawing their way back into the match by tightening their defense and disrupting the Koreans’ rhythm. Their mental toughness shone in the decider, holding firm in the closing stages to edge out the in-form Kim and Seo.
This victory adds another prestigious feather to their cap, following earlier triumphs at the Badminton Asia Championships and the Thailand Open, firmly reaffirming their status as one of the dominant forces in world badminton.
With three titles already in hand this year and their confidence soaring, the Malaysian aces are now poised to push for even greater glory as the 2025 season progresses.
