Shahrul Saad, the defender from Johor Darul Ta’Zim was released from the centralized training camp today after he was unable to join the team in Chiang Mai, Thailand to compete in the 48th King’s Cup 2022 from 22-25 September.
Shahrul had reported with the other players, yesterday, but monitoring by the team’s doctor and physiotherapist of his health condition during these two days found that he did not have time to be fully fit ahead of the two matches in Chiang Mai later.
FAM officials and medical team have always prioritised the health and safety of our players, and has agreed to release Shahrul from the centralised training camp so that he can recover to his best health.
With Shahrul’s absence, the remaining 23 players will continue the centralized training camp at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya while Dion Cools will join the team in Chiang Mai on Monday. No new players were added.
