Selangor FC has released an official club statement expressing deep regret following an incident involving a small minority of supporters in Kuala Terengganu, before their recent 2025/26 Liga Super Malaysia clash against Terengganu FC.
The Red Giants confirmed that the situation occurred at the Drawbridge in Kuala Terengganu, and stressed that such behaviour does not represent the values of Selangor FC or the wider Selangor football community.
In the statement, Selangor FC also conveyed appreciation to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Terengganu for their quick and firm action in maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of all involved.
The club acknowledged the importance of authorities acting decisively in safeguarding the local community, especially during major matchdays when large groups of supporters travel across states.
Selangor FC made it clear that they strongly condemn any form of behaviour that violates the law or threatens public safety.
The club emphasised that such conduct is completely contrary to the principles of respect, unity, and responsibility that Selangor FC aim to uphold both on and off the pitch.
The Red Giants believe this incident should serve as an important reminder of the shared responsibility among all parties in Malaysian football.
Selangor FC urged supporters to continue fostering mutual respect and unity in order to build a healthier and more positive football-supporting culture nationwide.
Selangor FC also reaffirmed that they remain open to engaging with supporter communities and will provide full cooperation to relevant authorities in ensuring local football matches remain safe, exciting, and welcoming for everyone.
