Urawa Red Diamonds have announced the termination of Ricardo Rodriguez, Spanish head coach after the end of the season 2022.
In a statement the club, said the club and Ricardo agree not to renew a contract whose current contract expires after the end of the season in 2022.
“We would like to inform you that Urawa Red Diamonds has agreed with manager Ricardo Rodriguez to retire from his managerial position at the end of the 2022 season.”
“In addition, we have agreed not to renew the contract of coach and interpreter Naotsugu Obata, who led the team together with Coach Ricardo Rodriguez, for next season.”
“A review of the three-year plan that we have been working on since the 2020 season and the new system for the 2023 season will be announced at a later date.”
Ricardo started in the position of head coach of Urawa Red Diamonds in season 2021 and make an honor such as being Emperor’s Cup 2021 Champions and finalist in AFC Champions League 2022(The final match will be played in February 2023).
