PDRM FC crowned this title for the first time after tying Kuching City, scoring 1-1 in the MFL Challenge Cup 2023 Final Second leg at Stadium Negeri, Kuching.
In the event, the first chance fell to the home team as early as the third minute, but Aylton Ferreira’s header resulted from a free kick that just went over PDRM FC’s crossbar.
Kuching striker Abu Kamara missed a chance to reduce the deficit after his attempt in front of the PDRM FC goal in the 27th minute went wide.
The hosts’ insistence paid off after they managed to score the first goal through Petrus Shitembi’s quick shot in the 32nd minute to make it 1-3 on aggregate.
Continuing the second half, PDRM FC returned to a three-goal lead when Uche Agba’s fast shot from outside the penalty box beat Wan Azraie in the 56th minute.
No additional goals could be witnessed until the final whistle, Aggregate 2 matches PDRM FC won 4-1 and crowned the trophy MFL Challenge Cup 2023.
