Malaysian Men’s single No.7, Lee Zii Jia grabbed the first victory after winning to Viren Nettasinghe from Sri Lanka in the Men’s single event of badminton at the Olympics 2024 held at Porte de La Chapelle Arena, Paris.
In this match Lee Zii Jia won the Sinhalese player in a straight set scoring 21-14 21-12 in 35 minutes of action.
This victory put Zii Jia, who is also a former All-England champion, on the right track to chase the position as group winner and also confirm his ticket to the last 16 rounds.
He is scheduled to meet experienced Spanish player, Pablo Abian, this Wednesday, who is expected to determine the title of champion and runner-up in the group.
