Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei clinched the first victory over beating Singaporean pair, Hee Yong Kai-Tan Wei Han in the mixed doubles event of badminton at the Olympics 2024 held at Porte de La Chapelle Arena, Paris.
The world number nine pair showcased their best performance, especially in the second set, recording a 23-21, 21-12 victory in 43 minutes of action.
This victory allowed Tang Jie and Ee Wei to maintain their unbeaten record against the Singaporean opponents, following their previous win at the Swiss Open last March.
Competing in the Olympics for the first time, Tang Jie and Ee Wei are scheduled to face the United States team, Vinson Chiu and Jennie Gai, for their second group match tomorrow.
A victory over their US opponents would guarantee Tang Jie and Ee Wei a place in the quarter-finals.
