The First Instance Body (FIB) has confirmed that the application deadline for the 2025/26 National Club Licensing cycle officially closed on 10 May 2025.
All participating Malaysia Super League clubs, along with two clubs from the Liga A-1 Semi-Pro division – Melaka FC and Imigresen FC – have successfully uploaded their documents into the AFC CLAS Licensing System.
In total, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) Club Licensing Unit is now conducting a thorough review of 387 documents and entries submitted by Super League clubs, covering all six core criteria: Financial, Sporting, Infrastructure, Personnel & Administrative, Legal, and Business. For the Liga A-1 Semi-Pro applicants, 98 documents and entries are currently under examination.
The MFL Club Licensing Unit will compile a comprehensive report to be presented to the FIB, which is expected to convene soon to assess and determine the status of all 2025-2026 National License applications.
“There will be no further extensions granted to any clubs. The FIB will issue an official statement once the entire licensing evaluation process is completed,” said Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif, Chairman of the FIB.
This licensing process is crucial to ensuring all clubs meet the required professional standards ahead of the next season, safeguarding the integrity, sustainability, and competitiveness of Malaysian football.
The decision by the FIB will determine which clubs are eligible to participate in domestic and continental competitions for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
