Malaysia national team tied Syria national team, scoring 2-2 in the friendly match for preparation before the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Final round at Grand Hamad Stadium, Doha.
Malaysia started strongly, taking the lead in the 39th minute of the first half through a goal by the national sensation, Arif Aiman Hanapi.
However, Syria showed resilience in the second half, demonstrating a more organized approach. They scored two goals, with Pablo Sabbag finding the net in the 70th minute and Ibrahim Hesar adding another four minutes later.
Malaysia, undeterred, fought back, and Paulo Josue equalised in the 78th minute, showcasing the team’s determination.
Malaysia to face 3 matches in Group E of the AFC Asian Cup 2023. with Jordan on 15 January, also met two other opponents, Bahrain on 20 January and Korea Republic 25 January.
