Malaysia national team has announced 26 players in the squad to prepare for FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 Group D Matchday 5-6 from 6-11 June 2024.
The following is the list of 26 players called up by Kim Pan-Gon, head coach, to join the Malaysia national team’s centralized training camp beginning on 27 May 2024.
This squad, have 3 key players absent from this squad Faisal Halim(Selangor FC) due to an incident, Azam Azmi(Terengganu FC), Arif Aiman, and Romel Morales (JDT) due to injury.
Among the players who stole the spotlight is the return of Kedah Darul Aman explosive Syafiq Ahmad to the Harimau Malaya camp while some new faces such as Kalamullah Al-Hafiz Mat Rowi (Kedah Darul Aman FC), Adib Ra’op (Penang FC), Feroz Baharudin (Johor Darul Ta’zim), Declan Lambert (Kuala Lumpur City), Syafiq Ahmad (Kedah Darul Aman) and Engku Shakir (Terengganu FC).
Malaysia will be in action for the fifth match of Group D against the Kyrgyz Republic on Thursday, 6 June 2024, at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium, Bishkek before flying home for the sixth match against Chinese Taipei at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, on Tuesday, 11 June 2024.
