Malaysia Futsal National Team by newly appointed head coach Addie Azwan Zainal has unveiled a 20-man squad to report for a centralised training camp beginning Sunday, 11 January 2026, as Malaysia step up preparations for the AFC Futsal Asia Cup 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia, scheduled from 27 January to 7 February 2026.
The call-up marks Addie Azwan’s first major decision since taking over from Rakphol Sainetngam, and the former futsal legend has opted for continuity and balance, retaining the core of the squad that delivered bronze in the Men’s Futsal event at the 2025 SEA Games in Nonthaburi, Thailand last December.
Addie Azwan kept all 14 players from the SEA Games bronze-winning squad, underlining his belief in the existing group and the playing philosophy already in place. He has also recalled four familiar faces who have previously attended national centralised camps — goalkeeper Syawal Sabaruddin, Haiqal Hasnor, Norakmal Norizal, and Syahmie Rosli.
Adding youthful energy to the mix, two standout players from the Malaysia B-19 futsal team, who finished third at the ASEAN U-19 Futsal Championship 2025, have earned senior call-ups. They are team captain Faaris Amsyar Marhaidi and Aidil Zakwan Zaidi, both rewarded for their impressive performances in Nonthaburi.
