Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Wan Arif Wan Junaidi and Yap Roy King, delivered their best performance of the season by booking a spot in the final of the 2025 Macau Open earlier today.
Currently ranked No. 24 in the world, the dynamic duo needed just 34 minutes to dispatch fellow Malaysians Choong Hon Jian and Muhammad Haikal Nazri in straight sets, 21-13, 21-15, during the semi-final clash held at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.
This victory marks their first final appearance of the season and second overall since being paired last year — their previous best being a runner-up finish at the 2024 Spain Masters.
Tomorrow’s final presents a golden opportunity for Wan Arif and Roy King to claim their maiden BWF World Tour title and solidify their position among the world’s elite men’s doubles pairs.
The Malaysians now await the outcome of the second semi-final between Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Taiwan’s Lee Fang Chih-Lee Fang Jen, who will battle it out for the remaining spot in the championship match.
