Lion City Sailors have announced a landmark three-year partnership with global sportswear giant adidas, marking a historic moment in the club’s meteoric rise since its inception in 2020.
Effective 1 July 2025, adidas will become the official kit supplier of the Sailors, Singapore’s only privatised football club. The deal goes far beyond apparel—it’s a powerful statement of intent. adidas will provide cutting-edge performance wear and equipment to power the Sailors both on and off the pitch, beginning from the 2025/26 season.
“We’re excited to partner with adidas as we mark an important milestone—five years—in our club’s history. adidas is not only a prestigious global brand, but one that resonates deeply even beyond the world of football,” said Sailors chairman Forrest Li.
The collaboration aims to transcend the pitch, with fan-centric initiatives, exclusive events, and impactful community programmes in the pipeline. This partnership is a strategic pillar in the Sailors’ mission to compete with Asia’s elite clubs and elevate Singapore football to global relevance.
“This is an exciting journey that we’re embarking on with adidas,” said John Morris, the Sailors’ Head of Commercial, who was instrumental in securing the deal. “This partnership validates our ambitions—adidas’ backing is a huge endorsement of our long-term vision.”
The partnership will also see adidas become title sponsor of the Youth Champions League, the Sailors’ elite youth competition launched in 2022. It will be rebranded as the adidas Elite Youth League, covering age groups from Under-10 to Under-16. This rebranding affirms adidas’ commitment to nurturing local talent and providing young footballers with a professional, competitive platform.
“Our partnership with the Lion City Sailors is central to our vision of empowering Southeast Asian football,” said Thibault Durand, Senior Vice President & General Manager for adidas Southeast Asia.
“Following our recent partnerships with the Philippines Women’s National Team and ASEAN United FC, this deal underscores our intent to leave a lasting impact in the region.”
Chen Rui Yuan, Country Manager of adidas Singapore, added:
“Football is in adidas’ DNA and the heartbeat of Singaporean sport. We’re proud to support the Sailors in their quest to be the region’s best, while also bringing fans closer to the beautiful game.”
This partnership marks a new era for Singapore football. With adidas backing their ambitions, the Lion City Sailors are not just building a team — they are building a legacy.
