Terengganu FC earned 3 points in away match after beating Sri Pahang FC scoring 5-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPT, Temerloh.
After back-to-back winless matches, Terengganu was determined to regain momentum, while Sri Pahang remained in search of their first league win of 2025.
The visitors wasted no time asserting dominance, as Akhyar Rashid struck in the second minute, firing past Zarif Irfan Hashimuddin to open the scoring.
In the 19th minute, Safawi Rasid doubled Terengganu’s lead with a stunning top-corner finish, leaving Zarif Irfan with no chance.
Sri Pahang’s struggles deepened when Aleksandar Cvetkovic was sent off in the 27th minute following a VAR review, reducing the hosts to 10 men. A minute later, Muhammad Safwan Mazlan capitalized on a goalkeeping error to make it 3-0.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Sri Pahang pulled one back in the 39th minute through Sergio Aguero, who reacted quickest after his initial shot was saved by Syed Nasrulhaq Syed Bidin.
Fandi Ahmad made changes at halftime, bringing on Ibrahim Manusi and David Rowley, but Terengganu remained relentless. Ismaheel Akinade added the fourth goal in the 59th minute before Manuel Ott sealed the emphatic win in the 89th minute.
With this victory, Terengganu moves up to 31 points, keeping the pressure on third-placed Sabah FC. Meanwhile, Sri Pahang remains in 11th place with 17 points.
