Sri Pahang FC edge 1 point in their home after tied Kuala Lumpur City scoring 1-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPT, Temerloh.
Heavy rain and a waterlogged pitch delayed the match, originally scheduled to start at 8:15 PM, by 30 minutes. Once conditions improved, referee Mohd Amirul Izwan Yaacob gave the green light to kick off, with Sri Pahang quickly seizing control of the game.
The hosts dominated the first half, with their first clear opportunity arriving in the 10th minute. Aleksandar Cvetkovic’s powerful header narrowly missed the left post, leaving Kuala Lumpur City goalkeeper Muhammad Hafizul Hakim stranded.
Despite being on the back foot for much of the half, KL City capitalized on their lone chance in the 45th minute. Midfielder Kenny Pallraj found the back of the net with a clinical finish, giving the visitors a surprise 1-0 lead at halftime.
Sri Pahang came out determined in the second half, pushing forward in search of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off in the 79th minute when a penalty was awarded after KL City defender Adrijan Rudovic was penalized for a handball.
Stefano Brundo stepped up confidently and converted from the spot, bringing the hosts level at 1-1.
Both teams pressed for a late winner, but the match ended in a stalemate, with Sri Pahang left to rue missed opportunities. Despite dominating possession and creating more chances, they had to settle for a single point at home.
