Sabah FC maintained a good performance after beating Kelantan Darul Naim, scoring 4-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu.
The home side displayed dominant form, netting three goals in the first half and adding one more in the second, while Kelantan managed only a single goal in the opening half.
The match opened with Sabah pushing forward aggressively, resulting in the first goal in the 16th minute. Joao Pedro struck with a powerful header off Stuart John Wilkin’s perfectly timed long pass, putting Sabah in the lead.
However, Kelantan responded swiftly and equalized in the 26th minute, challenging Sabah’s early momentum. The home side bounced back immediately as Muhammad Farhan Roslan reclaimed the lead just a minute later, bringing the score to 2-1.
As halftime approached, Sabah extended their advantage. Once again, Pedro connected with Wilkin, heading home a cross in the 44th minute, marking his second goal and giving Sabah a comfortable 3-1 lead going into the break.
In the second half, Sabah kept up the pressure, and Gabriel Peres made it 4-1 with a clinical finish in the 59th minute. The scoreline held firm through three minutes of added time, securing Sabah a deserved three points on their home turf and further solidifying their position in the league standings.
