Sabah FC, earned 3 points in away match after beating Penang FC scoring 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium Bandaraya, Pulau Pinang.
Sabah’s forward momentum was evident from the onset, with import player Saddil Ramdani firing off a stunning curling shot with his left foot just two minutes into the game, leaving Penang’s goalkeeper, Sikh Izhan Nazrel, unable to respond.
The momentum stayed with Sabah as Gabriel Peres netted their second goal just four minutes later, scoring off a free kick after Khairul Akmal Rokisham fouled Telmo Castanheira.
As the first half neared its conclusion, Sabah’s midfielder Stuart Wilkin added a third goal with a long-range shot in the 35th minute, putting Penang under intense pressure. Penang managed an attempt through Rodrigo Dias’ header, but Sabah goalkeeper Damien Lim made a quick save to keep the clean sheet intact.
In the second half, Penang, playing without head coach Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli, reportedly on leave, struggled to recover. Sabah’s captain, Dominic Tan, extended their lead further with a goal in the 50th minute, sealing the 4-0 victory.
Sabah FC’s strong teamwork and offensive execution left the Harimau Kumbang squad without answers, marking Penang’s sixth consecutive winless game and further elevating Sabah in the Liga Super standings.
