Melaka FC produced a performance described victory to claim their first win after shocking fierce rivals Negeri Sembilan FC with a 2-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 season at Hang Jebat Stadium, Krubong.
The hero of the night was Brazilian import Juan Douglas, whose clinical brace sank the “Hobin Jang Hobin” squad and breathed new life into Datuk K. Devan’s campaign.
The hosts wasted absolutely no time. In just the 3rd minute—before either team had even settled—MFC struck gold.
NSFC goalkeeper Azri Ghani made a costly blunder with a goal-kick that went straight to Douglas, and the Brazilian surged into the penalty box and coolly slotted the ball past the scrambling keeper to give the underdogs a shock 1-0 lead.
Stung by the early setback, Negeri Sembilan tried to rally, but the home side wasn’t done. In the 26th minute, Melaka doubled their advantage. A pinpoint long ball from Umar Haqeem found Douglas, who beat Azri for the second time, sending the Hang Jebat crowd into a frenzy.
Facing a 0-2 deficit, NSFC Head Coach Nidzam Jamil rang the changes, bringing on Luqman Hakim and Mio Tsuneyasu to ignite the attack.
Melaka FC switched to defensive mode to protect their lead, frustrating the visitors until the final whistle. NSFC’s misery was compounded in stoppage time when their captain, Khuzaimie Piee, was shown a red card.
This result ends a painful nine-match winless streak for Datuk K. Devan. The three crucial points have vaulted Melaka FC up to 10th place in the league table, proving that the Hang Tuah squad is finally ready to compete.
