Kuching City opened year 2025 with a victory after win PDRM FC scoring 2-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPS, Selayang.
The Cats took an early lead in the 15th minute when Petrus Shitembi calmly slotted home a well-placed pass from Hazwan Bakri, showcasing excellent coordination and precision.
As the match neared its conclusion, Jordan Mintah, who replaced Kipre Tchetche, sealed the win with a late goal in the 88th minute. His decisive strike dashed any hopes PDRM had of mounting a comeback.
The victory marked Kuching City’s fifth win of the season, bringing their tally to 21 points after 15 matches. This result propelled Aidil Sharin Sahak’s squad up two places to fifth position, underlining their steady improvement in the league.
Meanwhile, PDRM FC, who entered the match in fifth place, dropped to sixth after the loss. Despite having the same 21 points, they have now played 17 matches, giving Kuching City the advantage in the standings with games in hand.
This triumph added to Kuching City’s record of six draws and four losses in the current campaign. Aidil Sharin’s leadership has clearly bolstered the team’s performance as they continue to navigate the challenges of the Super League.
PDRM FC, on the other hand, will need to regroup and refocus if they are to maintain their position among the top teams in the league.
