Kedah Darul Aman FC was forced to settle for one point if it was only a draw with Sabah FC woth a score 1-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at the Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
Kedah opened the net following a header from imported striker Ronald Ngah early in the sixth minute, beating Sabah goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
Sabah tried to bounce back following Gary Steven Robat’s attempt in the 21st minute, but his attempt crossed the crossbar.
Sabah’s Taiki Kagayama almost equalized five minutes later, but his effort was saved by Kedah goalkeeper Ifwat Akmal.
Mahmoud Al-Mardi had a golden opportunity in the 34th minute in the penalty box after receiving a cross from Kedah captain Syazwan Zainon, but his attempt also strayed to the left of the Sabah goal.
Beginning in the second half, Sabah continued to press the hosts through captain Baddrol Bakhtiar in the 64th minute, but his attempt was denied by Ifwat.
In the 83rd minute, Sabah finally equalized through Farhan Roslan’s network who received a delivery from Saddil Ramdani.
