Johor Darl Ta’Zim earned another 3 points in home again after beating PDRM FC scoring 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
JDT fielded a formidable lineup, including Super League top scorer Bergson da Silva and attacking talents such as Heberty Fernandes, Arif Aiman Hanapi, and Jorge Obregon.
The hosts pressed hard for an early breakthrough, with Obregon nearly scoring in the fourth minute, only for PDRM goalkeeper Robson Rendy Rining to intercept Heberty’s quick pass.
Obregon eventually broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, netting his first goal since the match against Negeri Sembilan FC on November 1. Unfortunately, his night was cut short due to injury, prompting JDT coach Hector Bidoglio to bring on former Real Madrid striker Jese Rodriguez in the 27th minute.
Corbin Ong doubled the lead in the 38th minute, calmly finishing a precise pass from Jordi Amat.
JDT continued their relentless pursuit of goals after the break. Bidoglio introduced national striker Romel Morales to replace Arif Aiman, adding fresh attacking firepower.
Jese extended the lead in the 54th minute, converting a well-timed cross from Park Jun-heong. Just four minutes later, Heberty unleashed a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but Robson’s superb save kept the scoreline at 3-0.
Despite substitutions by PDRM manager P. Maniam, including the introduction of Ifedayo Olusegun and Hadi Fayyadh, the visitors struggled to shift the momentum.
Morales sealed the victory in the 81st minute, scoring his sixth Super League goal by following up on a rebound past Robson.
The 4-0 triumph solidifies JDT’s position at the top of the league with 55 points, while PDRM FC sits in 27th place with 21 points.
JDT now turns its focus to a critical AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) fixture against Central Coast Mariners on February 11. Meanwhile, PDRM prepares for the first leg of the MFL Challenge Cup final on February 15.
With just two more wins needed to secure the league title, the Southern Tigers continue their march toward domestic and continental glory.
