Johor Darul Ta’Zim despite having 10 players but fighting back in the second half to beat Kedah Darul Aman with a score of 3-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
Kedah’s mission started positively when they took the lead as early as the 12th minute after the main striker Ronald Ngah managed to escape from two opposing defenders by running into the opponent’s penalty box before beating the opposing goalkeeper Farizal Marlias.
Kedah once again got a chance to add a goal in the 31st minute when Mahmoud Al-Mardi made an attempt on the left side of the JDT goal but the ball just went wide of the goal post.
JDT, however, came back to increase their attack in pursuit of goals after falling behind, and finally, Afiq Fazail’s pass to the home team’s penalty area was quickly met by Bergson Da Silva who then managed to beat Shahril Sa’ari in the 36th minute.
The situation was a little tense at the end of the first half when Bergson was shown a red card after punching Kedah defender Rodney Celvin.
Despite playing with 10 players, Leandro Velazquez once again managed to score his second goal for JDT to lead the match in the 59th minute after completing a penalty kick after Syafiq Ahmad was brought down in the penalty box by Kedah defender Azmeer Aris.
Kedah through striker Ronald Ngah almost scored in the JDT goal in the 66th minute but his header attempted just a little over the goal post.
JDT continued to kill the hosts’ spirit when they added another goal through the touch of midfielder Afiq Fazail in the 78th minute who easily shot the ball into the penalty area to make the score 3-1.
