Perak FC, club in Liga Premier Malaysia set price for selling team is only RM 1 for individuals or companies want to own the team.
The price involved can be considered unreasonable but the dire situation that hit the Perak FC caused Impact Media & Communication (IMC) Sdn,Bhd. to have to take the decision to release the team in the near future.
“currently the sale of Perak FC is disrupted due to the buyers still not submitting proof of funds as stipulated in the rules set by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).” Muhammad Yunus Zakariah, Perak FC Executive Officer said with Harian Metro.
“We now just want to sell but we cannot do so arbitrarily because individuals or companies who are interested in owning Perak need to submit proof of funds first.”
“I can say that at the moment we really can’t afford it, even the recent match involving Perak FC was a bit painful to find financial resources to pay for the stadium and also the visiting team.”
“If the value of the team is RM1, it doesn’t matter because the important thing is to hand over Perak FC to interested and capable parties,” he said.
Earlier, Perak FC has the Club Licensing or First Instance Body (FIB) deducted 3 points in Liga Premier Malaysia 2022 due failing to settle the salary arrears of the players last season.
In addition, If Perak FC still fails to settle the salary arrears by the second deadline (April 14, 2022) then on April 15, 2022, they can be punished with six more points in the Premier League competition and a reduction in funds.
Meanwhile, Yunus said, currently Perak FC bears about RM8 million in debt, including RM2 million involving player salary arrears. And admit them cannot afford to settle all the debts and hope the new owners will be able to pay them later.
